Best way to buy????

I am about to purchase my first Ford product, a 2004 F-150 Super Crew of course, and have been looking into the viability of buying through an Internet based service like Autobytel, for example. They offer a straight up no haggle price of 3% over dealer invoice which seems fair to me, although I am certainly no expert since I haven't purchased a new vehicle since 1994!! :-) What experiences, if any have you had with these types of services and is there anything I'm missing out on, other than a lot of hassle, by going this route? Thanks in advance for any advice/suggestions!

Smile What I Did

I started with the intent to buy an '03. One online service referred me to a dealer who offered to match my Credit Union buying club price of $ 100 over dealer invoice. I am buying an '04 lariat.

Later this dealer would not match my price for someone else but the actual buyng club dealer has to by contract. There is a web site offering to match you to dealers who will sell for invoice.

I have good things from people who used www.carsdirect.com but I have no personal experience.
