VIN info? What do I have?

OK, I found this site while looking for a good used F-150. I have posted about my find 2001 F-150 Lariat 4x4 Offroad. I received partial carfax bs stuff & did get the manuals I found here. But I cannot find a printout for my truck from VIN
or data saved ...
I recall a VIN ID link here & one guy told me my truck was made in Canada.
So, how can I get a VIN printout that shows what I have in my Ford?
VIN 1FRTX18L11NB23639
I want to know if I have limited slip differential(always assumed it was...Offroad 4x4...) I would like a full printout if possible. Is there a link besides the ad crap on goggle?

VIN doesn't ID the diff, your question is answered in one of your other threads. VIN decoder:

Depends on several items - engine, axle ratio, 2wd or 4wd, cab type, wheelbase, tow package.

I don't know about everyone else, but I bought a new used truck and I don't know the axle ratio and which tow package it has. How can I find that, and then how do you use that info to interpret the list from the vin tool?

Post a picture of your door jamb sticker.

You know you posted in the 1997-2003 forum? All the info you need is on those stickers except the max tow rating. Your max tow is 9000#. Towing over 5000# may require a weight distribution hitch. Max cargo rating (1709#) includes all passengers, cargo, and the trailer tongue weight. Gross weight of the truck, passengers, cargo, and trailer tongue should not exceed 6800#.

Exactly what glc said is correct.

You can also double check your weight of before planning to travel by going to a weigh station. It will give you a good idea if you need to drop some cargo or if you are within your limits. It's also nice to know for fuel economy and brake wear for instance.

Highway weigh stations won't do it for you, but scales at truck stops would.

Ah, sorry about that... should have paid better attention. Should I move my part of the discussion?

As for max tow, thanks for the information. I wrongly guessed it might be 11k, from all the information I could find, it seems that you need Eco boost engine to get to 13,200, but you could get to 11k w/ the 5.0.

Is is hard to explain how that number is calculated? I'm a structural engineer but getting the data from Ford seems quite convoluted.

thanks again for your help, nevermind the above post.

I found a Ford 2018 f150 chart that clearly shows the max tow at 9.1K for the 5.0 v8

glc 11-15-2021 10:17 AM

The chart I used said both 9000 and 9100, that's why I posted the lower number. The payload and GVWR numbers are more important anyway, and are usually exceeded before you hit max tow.

Yes thanks again... great info. If I'm screwing around and close enough that I'm worried about 100 lbs, I'm definitely in trouble payload wise! I don't know what factor of safety is used in these designs, there are so many variable. I'm staying way away.

Next year I'll buy f250 platinum and won't have to worry
