Gas tank siphoning
Hello again, wanting to know why I can't get a siphoning hose into the gas tank (30 gal.) on a 1999 F-150 4.6 4x4 XLT. I have all ready disconnected the rubber hose from the filler pipe. There appears to be something in the hose or gas tank opening preventing a hose from entering the tank?

Have you tried using a smaller hose?
|
why siphon?....just unplug the fuel filter and turn the key on....fuel pump runs for like 10 seconds each time..
|
Have tried a smaller hose and draining tank because fuel pump is kaput!!!!
|
There's an anti-siphon baffle in the fill pipe.
If you can get the bed bolts loose, lift the bed, you can replace the fuel pump without dropping the tank. |
^^^ yes..
never fails the fuel pump dies with a FULL 22 gallon tank of petrol.... btw...if you remove the bed..don't forget to remove the filler tank tube/bolts... ;) |
