5.4L 2V upgrade?

Hi All,

Needs some ideas whats best upgrade/replacement you recommend for my 97 F150 with a current 5.4l 2v 194,000 original engine. Nothing wrong with it but I want to get some HP out of with without changing the trans and rear-end. There used to be a company called Paschal Performance that had 6.2L 2v dropins but they are no longer around. I would be happy with 150HP-300HP increase, looking to start running on track course in VA in the next couple years.

Do you have a E4OD or a 4R70W?

a PI 5.4 would be a start, but you’re going to need boost for a 300 horse gain on a two valve...

If it's a 4R70W, that can't handle a boosted 5.4 very well. If it's a E4OD, what about a Lightning swap?

My little V6 puts out some 365 hp and 420 tq so that's what I did, but had to trade the 97 F150 5.4 in on it....

Nice truck you have there, so yes, if you want to keep it, but change it's power, what is your budget?

Doing a 5.0 Coyote swap would be pretty cool! Patman is doing that with his truck and it's been a great project, but I'm sure it's a long process and gonna take some $$

Good luck!

Mitch

I'd be open to a lightning swap if it comes with everything I need and a low mileage motor.
