Buying a #313 ford boss 5.4 yellow need help with the price

I need know if this truck is worth tradeing a 2003 durmax 6.6L turbo with 200k miles he wants 14999 for it is it worth it

Wrong forum, as that's the '97-'03 ('04 Heritage) body style. However, there's no way in hell that Boss truck is worth $15K. The Boss 5.4L trucks were just a paint job/body kit and a cat-back exhaust. They aren't even a "Ford" produced product, aside from a regular 2WD F-150 (260HP), they were altered by a 3rd-party company and sold through Ford dealerships. I would value it just like a similar-year/mileage F-150 and pay accordingly. I certainly wouldn't buy it with the intentions that it's a collector's item. Personally, I'd rather have a Ford Lightning which has a similar look, but actually had a Supercharged engine to back it up.

You are the only one that can determine what it's worth (to you). For someone who hates yellow, it is worthless. For someone who loves yellow, it could be priceless. For anyone else, somewhere in between.

Ever thought of looking up the truck with the Kelley Blue Book or the NADA guide?

Check online to see what similar vehicles are asking, and see if you can look up what these are actually selling for.

There is the Blue Book price, which is the accepted price by banks & insurance companies. A bank will not lend beyond the book value of the car. An insurance company won't pay more than the book value of the car.

Then there is what you feel you want to pay for the car. I've always paid less than the book value, cash in hand, to buy whatever someone is desperate to sell. Some people are desperate to buy, and often pay beyond the book value. Or for whatever reason to you, you feel that it's worth the money, then you will pay what you think it is worth. Same reason why you can drink water from the fountain for free, or pay $3 for a bottle of water.

If you are looking for opinions..........opinions vary. I'm willing to bet that this guy has already been offered a lot less money by the car dealerships, and that is why he is trying to sell it himself. And he has already received offers, which he did not think were good enough. In his mind, he has a high value item. In everyone else's reality, he has a 20 year old truck with a fancy paint job. I see this all the time with motorcycles. Every guy with a Harley thinks it's worth $10,000 or $20,000; when the book value is often $3000 - $5000. A dealer will offer the guy $1,500 for a $3,000 book value Harley. He tries to sell it for $10,000. Eventually, he needs the money bad enough, and I'll buy it for $2,500. This guy is like a Harley owner. He thinks the truck went up in value.

$1500 in this area, maybe $2500 if you really like it
