First of all, thanks for responding.

I have two nearly identical 1998 f150s, one has a bad engine, and is a 4.6. The other one is a 5.4 and was rolled over gently and needs a cab/box. So swapping a cab isn't my question here. I'm going to do that and don't have questions there. My main question here is: isn't the ignition system different on the 5.4 vs 4.6 because of COP and non COP and the security system? So when I swap the cab and box over, is there any insight as to what I would expect to swap besides the cabs and on board computers.

 

A COP engine will run fine with coil packs and wires, and vice versa. PATS didn't come till 99.

 

I should have mentioned the 5.4 truck is a 2002. My apologies.

Edit: I'm putting the 98 cab and box onto the 2002 frame. Thanks in advance
