98 F150 brake fuse keeps blowing
Got a 98 F150. The number 13 fuse under the dash continues to blow. For a while now it would blow occasionally. This effects the shift lock actuator. Now the fuse is blowing immediately when I replace it with a new one.
I did cut cut off the trailer wiring harness and taped up the ends. I had read that sometimes that is an issue.

I had read something about that. But the my #13 fuse isnt connected to that part. So I have t been able to understand how the cruise control could be making the fuse blow.
I did check thr part yoi mention and see no no brake fluid anywhere on it. It seems from other threads that fluid gets in it and causes a short.

Pg. 135 of 98 man. says Rear anti lock brake module, Brake on/off switch, brake pressure switch.
Why would you cut off harness to the trailer connector?
The brake pressure switch supplies power to the Cruise Control, the brake on/off does a number of functions, one is a back up to trip CC off.
You need to look at these areas for a grounding fault.
That's all there is to it.
I does not say anything about shift lock but may have been left out of the manual.
Shift lock does involve the brake switch might be a hint.
Good luck.
