Help! F-150 4R70W transmission 98 vs 99
Hello, I have a 1998 F150 2wd 4.6L trans code U (4R70W). My forward gears won't engage in the transmission, so it needs to be rebuilt or replaced...
*All the info on the 1998 transmission is: F85P-7000-FA (PKF-BB), the main housing casting # RF-F7AP-7006-AA, the tail housing casting # RF-F3LP-7A040-AA - basic-7...
I have a friend who has a transmission out of a 1999 F150 2wd 4.6L trans code U (4r70W)...
*All the info on the 1999 transmission is: XL3P-7000-AA (PKF-AN), the main housing casting # RF-F7AP-7006-AA, the tail housing casting # RF-F3LP-7A040-AA - basic-53...
Both transmissions are from identical trucks except one is a 98 and the other is a 99...
What is the difference in the transmissions and what would I need to do to the 99 F150 transmission to make it work in my 98 F150???
Thanks for any help...
