Help, light issues can't find my dash light wire

Hey guys I'm new here so hopefully I'm in the right spot but here me go,

My taillights/cluster and dash lights stopped working and since I couldn't find the right pins to test resistance and am to cheap to buy one if its not the problem I decided I'm gunna install a switch to power the parking lights for now. Problem is when I send power to the brown wire the parking lights work, but I have no dash lights so I'm wondering if someone knows where I can find the wire to power that.

Also if anyone has the diagram or something so I know what all the pins in the switch are doing so I can test it but any help would be appreciated

Thanks guys

It might help if you explicitly identified what you are working on.

Sorry about that it's a 2001 f150 lariat. So my dash open I'm gunna install a toggle for the parking lights today for now but I wouldn't mind getting my cluster onto the switch as well until I figure out how to test my switch.

You are jumping from the fry pan into the fire.
Fix it properly.
At least get a Haynes Manual that has the schematics in the last section.
.
Good luck.

Wait a minute here!

If you have lost tail lamps and the instrument cluster lighting, then you have a blown fuse. It could be a simple fuse failure that is cured with a new fuse, or you have a short in a tail lamp somewhere. You could have a short in the instrument cluster, but the tail lamps are the far more likely suspect for this.

Wait, what? Your Light Switch already has a position for Parking Lights, what are you doing with a toggle switch?

Yes, this thread has me confused too. Glad I'm not the only one. :)
