Rebuilding my 98 F150

Hey everyone. I havent been on here in a good while.
Its been years. I guess because i had just given up on my truck constantly breaking down on me. I had decided to get something more reliable so i have gone through 2 different vehicles since i last posted here. Well long story short I still have my truck and miss driving her and decided i needed fix her up good. The dad purchased the truck in 1999 and he passed it on to me in 2009 and currently has 212,000. So no major work had been done to it at all. So my brother in law told me my suspension was pretty bad (hasnt been able to be aligned since ive had her) so he told me he would change the suspension for me, just buy the parts. So he did. Ok so thats done, what should be next. Where do i go from here? Again no major work has been done. I want to keep this truck until the engine goes out and when that happens ill get that replaced/rebuilt. So what do you guys think? what should i do next? Thanks in advance

Does it have cruise control? If so, make sure you got the fuse whip on the master cylinder.

Secondly, I would look at the obvious -- plugs, wires/cops, air filter, coolant, etc.

Yes it does have cruise control, plugs and cops done. Air filter check. Haven’t done anything with the coolant though.

Check the brakes for proper operation. check the rotor temperatures after driving to determing if the calipers are sticking. Probably a good idea to replace the 5 flexible brake lines. They tend to cause problems with age.

Speaking of brake lines, that’s not too complicated right? Checked the brakes and I def need new brake pads.

Whether the cruise control recall has been done or not, I'd get a new switch and harness:

Amazon Amazon
