Sorry. Full of smoke. Like a Vape cloud. So I know there was plenty of smoke and if I had a leak it would've shown.

So I changed the plugs to motorcraft.
Changed the coils. checked and cleaned maf twice.
Changed pcv smoke tested.
Checked all vacuum sources for leaks with smoke and starting fluid. No change.
Changed fuel filter
checked fuel pressure well within range.

Was going to take the egr off but the bolts were so tight I didn't want to strip them.

Anything else you think? Or what should I do before I just take it to a dealer.

No codes but when it did it did it was p0171 and 0174 lean banks 1/2
thanks everyone. I'd really like to get this running perfect.

Have you had the cats and exhaust checked yet for excessive backpressure? Have you done a compression test?

i did try to compression test it today. But my tester wouldn't fit. The threads are weird in these motors. Kinda slant back towards the fire wall.

Removing the cats will be a bizzitch.
Is there a way to test the exhaust at home?

Take it to a muffler shop. They can do the tests without dropping anything.

Years ago I had Midas check the cat on my car. They drilled a hole in the exhaust pipe before the cat and placed a pressure gauge that had a rubber tip against the hole and checked the back pressure. Then they welded the hole up. Easy peasy and didn't cost that much.
