98 F150 4.6 Fuel Pump

98 F150 4x4 4.6 Reg Cab/SBox, Fuel pump likely gone. Wouldn’t start, then started after sitting overnight. Unfortunately, then it died in a remote location.

Planning to pick up a pump and rebuild my existing, over my previous experience of replacing whole assembly ($ vs $$). But, in not having the existing removed yet, I see from my old assemblies that:
- My other 98 F150 4x4 4.6 Ext Cab/SBox had a pump that looked 1/4” wide terminal, and wider/longer
- My 03 F150 4x4 4.6 Ext Cab/SBox had a pump that has an almost square terminal

Any insight appreciated, as I cannot access for a few days, but was hoping to bring in a pump.

I'd verify the pump failure first. Check the fuel pressure for starters or at least listen to see if it runs when you turn the ignition to ON.

Update: My Dad's 04 F150 pump went en route to the 98, checked Schrader valve visual pressure, none, bought the Bosch 69131, arrived in 3 days, install from below (darn box rusted, broke two impact bits), required the adapter wire that was included, changed filter as well, started right up.

Bought the same 69131 for the 98, arrived in 5 days (Canada Post this time), also changed from below, did not require the adapter wire, changed filter as well, started right up. Hardest part was removing lines from the pump, my plastic scissor tool did not appear to be long enough.

So, can anyone recommend a good Ford fuel tool?
