2002 f150 4wd supercab

4WD SuperCab Flareside 6-1/2 Ft Box XL

That's what my vin tells me about my truck. The suspension is shot. It'll need new ball joints, shocks springs etc etc.

I was wondering could I just buy replacement FX4 components (from O'Reillys, or OEM) and bolt them up to gain the benefits of the better suspension package? I'd love to lift it and all but I privateer two race cars and can't really afford the 1200 bucks for a decent kit, plus the 500-1000 for all suspension components I'll need.

Located in western Washington.

No pics of the truck yet. It's ugly as all hell with ghetto clear altezza tail lights (previous owner). It's mostly just an engine/transmission/dead hooker hauler.

The difference in the FX4 is that it came with stiffer torsion bars and rear springs and also came with Rancho shocks and of course skid plates. I had an XLT 2000 Supercab before my 02 and it rode better than my FX4. The ball joints, tie rod ends, other stuff is the same.
