Lost a cover. Help
I unscrewed a cover to make more room for my oil filter wrench the cover was just about under the oil filter and i made an amature mistake, forgot to screw it back on and i guess i lost it on the road. Anyone know if this cover is of any importance?

Actuator for the 4WD?
|
On the axle, right? I just spent a few minutes trying to find the component you're looking for. I was unable to locate even the actuator on fords website. I know you can get the actuator in the picture at most local parts stores, as for the cover I'm thinking you'll need to visit a scrap yard or stop at a dealership to see if it's available still
Good Luck! |
Yeah on the axle i mean does it NEED to be covered? Or is this a cover i can do with out?

My issue iS that i lost the cover for it, will it be affected without the cover at all?

Ok, I just went outside and crawled under my truck to get a better idea of what you lost. It's a relatively flimsy piece of plastic, however I imagine it's purpose is to deflect road grime and moisture/salt/snow. The only problem you might have is the actuator failing prematurely. Or if you do alot of off-roading then maybe it might be a good idea to find a replacement, or if you're handy you could probably make one out of sheet steel

Okay thanks for the info, that helps alot!
