So a few months back I blew the sides of my 5.4 off. Had to buy a new motor and being a poor man, I went the cheap route. 400 for the motor and 400 for them retards to install it. Wait... I don't want to call the retards, that's an insult to retards... The idiots who installed it... So now I have a bunch of stuff installed wrong, not hooked up or broken... the list.

1. Fuel evap nipple broken, not hooked up.
2. Threads on coil pack #4 bolt hole striped
3. Jack bar missing
4. Exhaust pipes seemingly welded to exhaust manifold doughnuts.
5. Throttle body hoses misdirected.
6. PVC misdirected
7. 5 of 8 plugs fouled and almost useless.
8. EGR sensor bad.
9. Sewer water used for coolant. (Guessing)
10. Rear gear housing leaking.
11. Fuel injector and coil wiring guides missing.
12. Heater core hoses 1 and 2 redirected to bypass heater cores.
13. Muffler missing.
14. Engine wiring along front of motor not tied down and rubbing belt.
15. 2 bad coil packs.
16. 1 bad injector.
17. Way too much transmission fluid added.

I'm sure I could list more, but my fingers are getting tired and I'm sure you're getting bored... so on to my question.

I am trying to confirm all the hoses are in their rightful place when I come to this T port on the left side of the throttle body. One hose is going to the valve cover and the other two are looped into each other closing the air circuit.

My question is where do these two hoses actually go and question 2, do you see any other hoses that are in the wrong place?

My old girl is a 1998 Ford Expedition XLT 4X4 with a 5.4 engine.

Are you just venting?
You received what you paid for.
$400 dollar mess.

Your more at fault than who did the job, for going that route.
Now, you would be money ahead to pay them $400 to remove it, then get someone who will straighten up the mess and replace all the damage and get it running.
Think about it, otherwise it's just junk.

Are you just an angry mechanic with no work? Or are you just venting? I didn't hire them, the car lot that my buddy owns did and he said he trusted them... besides that, I don't have a job and I live in this truck... so if you don't have anything helpful to add... kindly shove it. I've fixed everything besides the heater cores and this hose issue, so I'm not going to go buy another motor just because you want to feel superior on the internet Kentucky boy.

 

Just because it's cheap does not mean it has to be bad.

Those are coolant hoses for heated PCV return

 

Just FWIW, shop I use in SF says, prices are up this yr. Was quoted ~$1000. This won't include a few hundred for fluids and gaskets Engine was 1600, (2001,) 2000 w taxes and a $150 liftgate surcharge to drop the engine as my po' but honest shop has no dock. A skilled ***'t works w the mech. (I like to help also, but my health took a crap.)
