Can't read code

Been taking truck to Oreilly to have code checked. No problems reading.

Took again yesterday and they could not get handheld to read. Said it powered up by could not read.

They checked another car while there with no problems.

Cig lighter works fine.

Ideas?

Look at the DTC test port for a pushed or bent pin.
