I recently bought a 2002 f150 RWD and need to change the brakes/rotors. I bought drilled/slotted rotors that were supposed to fit. The problem is the 02 RWD has the hub attached to the rotor. My question is this: Is there a way to switch to a regular hub assembly? I don't like the idea of my rotors and hub assembly being attached.

 

I am not aware of any conversion kits for a 2002. Centric does have them for 04+ to use 4wd rotors and separate hubs on the front.

 

On a RWD a rotor hub assembly on the front is pretty much the norm. I can't think of anything OEM off the top of my head that is not. Is it possible they sent you a kit for the 4 wheel drive? I actually prefer the combined unit. When you need to remove the rotor there is no chance that it is rusted onto the hub so you won't need the BFH to get it off.

 

I haven't had a vehicle with a rotor/hub assembly in years. My Viper, Prius, Limo, and Lexus all have separate hubs.
