2001 F-150. No power doors or windows. Alarm is factory or dealer installed Clifford Prime Level One; you take your keyfob and touch it to the control unit (keyfob receiver) to dis-engage alarm. After 30 seconds it engages once again. No remote alarm.

Need to find valet switch/button to permanently disengage alarm capabilities. Am looking under dash and looking and looking. Not finding one. Yet.

Anyone out there got any clues?

 

Ok i have 2002. xlt's and lariats usually have keyless entry,,, which has an alarm to it but only for opening doors. I also had an explorer xlt that had keyless entry but no keyfob,,, 97or 98. My truck has/had a keyfob for it,, never heard of anything like what you talk about. Check the fuse for the power doors and windows. It now has a viper alarm.

Checck the battery in your keyfob if it wont work.

factory alarms dont have those.

 

Clifford is not a factory system. It is one of the ones dealers use though.

 

Some aftermarket alarms don't have a mechanical valet switch but instead you use a combination of buttons on the fob. Google is your friend here if you don't have the instruction manual.
