Got most parts for my Eaton Swap, swap soon..

I got most of my parts to do the Eaton Swap on my 02 FX4 Supercrew.
I am still going to Port the Blower,Lower Intake, and Upper and Lower Plenums.
I have a set of 50lb. injectors and an SCT chip for tuning but was wandering if any of you have just used the factory Lightning ECU on a non a 4x4 non 4R100 truck?? If I can then I will just use 42# injectors and a factory Lightning ECU

i cant believe i missed this thread!

Great job on the porting!! looks awesome!!
thats alof of porting for running the stock 8# of boost!
Go ahead and port the throttle body!
did you gasket match all the parts?

as for the L PCM, you can just use your stock NA PCM since you will need custom tuning anyway.

Yeah ported the TB as well. everything is gasket matched and I am going to run a 4# or 6# lower I think. I got more parts I needed today. Just Misc hoses, a K&N plastic inlet tube, and few other little things.

I would not run a 6# lower on a NA motor.

Its not anymore dangerous than on a lightning. is the same rods and in some cases same crank. in 02 some lightning motors came with cast cranks not steel even tho Ford advertised that all where steel. yes the piston are much weaker but I ran the same ported blower and pulley combo on a previous combo . this is just my first time putting an Eaton on a na truck. I have put na motors in sc trucks on a couple occasions . keep tune right and keep in mind air temp vs power differences and don't floor it at lower speeds from being it od! but on all that I will prob do the 4lb just because the added load of the four wheel drive

Yeah I knew the rods were juunk and the cranks are hit and miss on that. Are the L pistons good for like 500hp. Im just not sure how much the NA pistons candle.

You Are right about the rods BUT NA motors also run 9:1 compression vs 8.4:1 on a non forged piston that won't hold up to detonation as well as the forged L pistons. I'm running 8lbs of boost on a stock NA motor without the porting and the truck makes so much more power I don't think you need a +4 or 6 lower...start closer to stock and work your way up as you feel you need it! Also you would need a BIG single fuel pump to support that much boost! Lastly the porting looks good but you are going to lose some torque with how much you opened it up...not like it's a problem but that's why I left mine stock (for now)

I'm running a lightning computer and harness but I'm 2wd and have a 4r100 behind it...as said above you will have to reuse your current computer and have it custom tuned. Id reccomend an SCT handheld like the xcal3

LOL... You dont do performance much do ya????

Like was said before I have done the stock longblock in lightnings and HD just not the SC on the stock truck... And I raised my compression on my Gen1 Twin turbo lightning from 8:8.1 to 10:4.1 compression ratio!! There are reasons!!

Also I promise I will loose NO torque from the ported blower and other parts!!
