A loud squeal is probably a slipping belt or a shot fan clutch.

Or the ring gear. Should be able to tell the difference between that and a belt tho.

I ordered my remfd starter from RockAuto.com When I called Kendall Ford for an original part number they gave me F81Z11002AARM, and when I searched for a remfd starter, I looked for that part number. When I found a match, I noticed it did not have a solenoid. So I ordered it. But there was a starter w/solenoid below, but I wasn't too sure if it was the right part number but it was for a 2005 F150 5.4L XLT. I just hope I don't need to order one with a solenoid now. This gets mind boggling--I hope this is the answer you wanted for a "link"

Yes, I ordered that Part # from Rock Auto. Good if they all have solenoids already. Just having the hardest time taking off that last PITA bolt! So complicating....

You have to lay directly under it and reach around the left. You'll find it , if your not wearing gloves. I don't even have to do that using a half inch drive. 1/2" w/6" extension and 1/2" drive 13mm socket will line right up for yuh.
