RS5000's Rebate
My new-to-me '03 7700 has original shocks and they are toast. I just bought new Rancho RS5000's for what appears to be a good deal.
RS5233 (2) RS5251 (2) $162.94, free shipping (no tax) and a Rancho-sponsored $50 rebate, so total cost is: $112.94. Bought the shocks at Truckaddons.com. I was just going to do Monroes, but I think the Ranchos were even cheaper. |
damn that is a good deal. ive got a little over 200 into my monroe sensatracs (all four) and when i got those the rancho's were even higher. so i say good deal!

Cool, I got mine a couple months ago and love them. I got them during the October buy 3 get 1 free deal..took a month or so to get the rebate check.

So I've had the RS5000 shocks installed for some time now, and put about 500 miles on them. However, they don't seem to be up to the job.
My truck is a 7700GWV, which has a heavier suspension (bigger torsion bars, and an extra leaf in the rear). On wash board gravel the truck is just terrible! The shocks were cheap $112, so no biggy. But at some point I am going to change them out. |
On wash board gravel...what are you expecting/looking for out of a $100 set of shocks? What exactly is it doing...wheel hop, rough ride, uncontrolled ride, etc?? If they do good on a surface that you spend 80% of your time and OK on a surface that you spend 20% of your time, you may be OK. You can't have your cake and eat it too for that price, but you sound like you know that.
