I've always used FRAM, never had a problem. But...... too much talk of poor quality, blah blah has me concerned. I use Motorcraft in both cars, but would use WIX, Purolator as well.

Are you sure you are not pricing the air filter?

Motorcraft oil filters are made by Purolator. If you don't use a Motorcraft filter, the following are good filters:

Purolator, Wix, Mobil 1, K&N.

Maybe that's where I'm getting the $14.... Man, that was just a few weeks ago. My memory is bad. At least I got the 2.77 qt right. 1 out of 3 aint bad... or is it. I also paid $14 for our audi oil filter, might be confusing that one also. My bad.

Well I buy my oil in bulk so for three oil changes it cost me $165 bucks.... So in the long run it isnt that bad... I noticed less valvetrain noise with amsoil, and royal purple, than any other oils I have used...

Why are you changing Amsoil at 4k? If you are going to change it that often just use the standard semi-syn Motorcraft.

You guys are so funny about Amsoil...if you would use it like you're supposed to, it's actually the cheaper alternative. All those trees are blocking your guys' view of the forrest...LOL.

ya amsoil is said to be the 12,000 mile or 1 year oil change thats why its 80 bucks. but i dont believe it and i stick to the motorcraft oil and filter every 3-5K
