Project Purple People Eater
I've been here for a little while and posted a couple pics of my truck in another tread but figured I'd go ahead and give it its own thread. It's a 1998 F150, 4.2 V6. I just rebuilt the motor after it spun a bearing and finished all the body work I had done as well.
I'll start with the paint and body work. I shaved the washer nozzles, fender emblems, antenna, plastic bed caps, tailgate cap, rollpan, tailgate handle, tailgate f150 and blue oval emblem and the body line across the bottom of the tailgate. I then molded on a set of side skirts to match the lightning inspired bumper. I painted the rear window surround, 3rd brake light and everything else. Here are pics of the body work in progress and the finished product.
How it started, after I had already painted it black primer.
After I sold the cowl/scoop hood and hit a deer and tore the front bumper cover in half.
These are the process and final product pictures.
Here it is all finished up and on the road. Just need to wetsand and buff it.

Here is the motor part of the build. I built it for forced induction that I plan to do later. The block was bored .020 over, decked, and line honed. The heads were surfaced and the entire rotating assembly was balanced. Rehere Morrison in Arlington, TX did all of the block work and Mike Smith automotive machine did the rotating assembly. Both companies did a fantastic job and I'd go back to them for anything. I had the crank ground and polished. I got the 4.3 stroker kit from SSMS for .020 over and 9.4:1 compression. Hardened pushrods and 1.8 roller rockers from Morana V6 racing, LS1 valve springs and retainers from SSMS, a custom grind cam from Oregon Cam Grinders. I port/polished/gasket matched the upper/lower intake manifolds and the heads myself also. Then I did all re reassembly and install back in the truck. Here are the pics from the motor build.
Installed back in the truck.

Thanks, that's exactly what I was going for.
Lol, I wasn't quite sure on the color at first but when I sprayed it out and especially with the silver stripe it looks really good.

Thanks man, there was definately a lot of time and work that went into this entire project. I really wanted to have something different so I kept the 4.2 and figured I'd build it to the point that I really want it.

Thanks, I'm pretty happy.
I did what I could at the time, but I still have things that I want to do to it.
Thanks, and you mean the one w/o a front bumper and the bumper in the bed?
That's one of the reasons I picked it. I mixed it and the silver stripe custom.
