is my truck lifted or just nice shocks?

My truck has always looked tall compared to other trucks of my year make (other than the obviously lifted ones), but i always just presumed it was cause of A/T tires and fx4. but then one day i noticed the Rancho shocks. well i took a few pictures and was gonna ask if it looks like a 2 inch lift or just nicer shocks. personally i think its just shocks

Ohh really? thanks man, that helps. im not even gonna bother posting pics now. i think it is just the tires that make it a tad bit higher than other non-lifted fx4s. I know about the whole systems and stuff. but as far as exterior goes im as clueless as everything. intersted in learning about it though ha

fx4 is Rancho after.. 02 I think.
Check your door sticker for the stock tire size and then check what your are.. this will tell you if the tires are just bigger then the stock size/trucks.

I have stock 265/70/r16 then put on 285/75/r16 which gave it about a 1" lift.

No shocks (stock or aftermarket) have any effect on ride height.

Yes and no.

You can't use Rancho adjustable on the front of our truck. I've seen some tow helpers that only use shocks and push air through them. I guess you COULD use Ranchos in the rear but not recommended.

It has to do with the suspension design. The 04-11 F-150's have coilover shocks, so the spring length and position on them affect ride height. On the 97-03 4x4's, the ride height is adjustable in the front by the amount of preload on the torsion bars. Torsion bars are the springs on our IFS.
