having a spare key hidden under the truck is nice, being too low to get it out kinda defeats the purpose tho

I keep one in my wallet. It's came in handy a few times. Battery died once after leaving the glove box open, tried to start it, truck made those possessed noises, dome lights dimmed. - Got out of the damn truck pissen and moanin slammed the door, started walking away and I heard the doors lock - Keys were stll in the ignition!

Yea, they can do some strange things with a low battery. Like it was trying to communicate after I slammed the door.

Well Sumbitch, I think I know it was trying to say now!

I did this one time with my 97 xl. MY dad and I were looking for something to get it unlocked. He has a 2004 f150 and just tried his key and it unlocked door. What are the chances of that?

I used to have an 87 Ranger 4x4 at the same time my younger brother had a 90 Ranger 2wd. Keys interchanged, so when we needed to swap trucks, we used our own keys

On my 97 when the battery is disconnected and then hooked up again the door locks cycle. It may not be fun but you could get under the truck and unhook the power from the battery or ground from the starter or chasis and maybe get in.

Ever thought of getting another key cut? All vehicles come with 2 keys from factory! If you have the programable type you should have 3 so you can reprogram the new one
