Which Way Should i go (wheels/tires)

I have a decision to make fellas and i dont want to make one and then later regret it. Im trying to decide on some new wheels and tires for my truck since im using the excuse i need new tires.

Option A: 18x9 ATX Artillery Black(400) + 35x12.50 trail graps (1400)+4.56 Gears (600) = 2400.
if i went with option A i would get the wheels and gears with tax money and then get some bald tires to run until summer when i should have the money for the tires

Option B: 16x10 Mickey Thompson Classic II-painted black by me (200-250) + 35x12.50 Km2's or Open Country MT's (around 1000-1100) + 4.56 Gears (600) = 1950
If i go with option B i will have the wheels on the truck within the week and then the tires will be done with tax money and ill drive with them until i can get 600 for gears.

whats the backspacing on artillery's? I love the stance of my classic II's.

either way...tough descision. personally, the $500 difference would kill me since i'm a tight wad

BS on Classic 2 is 4.438 in

BS on ATX is 4.52 in

Got any side pics since thats the same setup id run just with them in black

I agree...

I would def go with the classic II's. For one, that's $500 bucks you can use to regear the truck sooner. 18"s are expensive...Tires will always be cheaper when you need them for a 16". I like the look of the mt's better too. But thats just me, they'd both look good, i'd just go with the 16's or look for some 17x9 mt's. Goood luck to ya, it'll look good either way!

I was wondering your opinion on something too, jake, I have diff wheels now with smaller tires about 35% tread left. So i was going to wear them down first, but i came across a set of 315/70r17 bfg At's for $300. Brand new! I think this deal is too good to pass up, what do you think?

thejake1989 02-03-2010 11:35 AM

yea the classic II's are looking better and better to me and if cotedog can hook me up with a straight on side shot i can chop them on the truck in black

4 new tires for 300?? if so HELL yes

jbrew 02-03-2010 11:44 AM

The rims in the pic suck IMO, they look like crap , even painted. Honest opinion, - factory aluminums for that model year look ten times better. Round holes suck unless their Centerline, -at least those have a little style.

I think that will look good. I think the artillery is a more "roady" looking wheel, The MT's look like an offroad wheel to me, thats why i like them better too. They'll look goood in black.

Well plus $100 cause i have to go pick them up and it would prolly cost me about $100-$125 in gas, but 400-425. I still didn't think that was a bad deal for brand new 35's tho? They are mounted on Hummer H2 wheels tho, but i guess i could sell those and make some of my money back?

problem is i want them to stick out some from the wheel wells unlike the factory wheels. ill keep this in mind before my decision is made. problem is im not looking to buy brand new wheels so my options are limited.

I think the mt's will look alot better once they're black...they do look kinda rough or dirty in the pics.

That's what i'm thinkin man! Just making sure i ain't crazy! Gotta make a 3hr drive this weekend if i get them tho. oh well... i'll see what guy wants to do.

Yea, that's only my opinion lol. Can't you run a spacer ? Changed my mind due to rim size. Personally, I've had 35's on 8's in the past, other truck, then went with 10's. Couldn't believe how much better everything looked with those tires on 10" wide rims.

4.2trimble 02-03-2010 12:02 PM

the only wheels other than the Classic II's i could see you running would be the

KMC Revolvers which they did have them at one time in 5x135 pattern.

thejake1989 02-03-2010 12:12 PM

heres a quick chop.

http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/t...1989/chop2.jpg

and problem with a spacer is itll move the wheel out but i still want to go wider and stock wheel is only 7" wide and i want to run a 12.50 tire

Damn! That looks awesome jake! imo wouldn't go with a wheel spacer. being lifted like you are i'd def go with atleast and 8" rim.

cotedog03 02-03-2010 12:54 PM

jake i'll see what i can dig up after i finish this paper on Les Demoiselles d'Avignon.... oh i love college :ll:

so far though, that photochop looks pretty good.
