Rust On Roof

Rust On Roof
I have this rust spot on the roof of my 2001 Ford F150 Supercrew & when it rains it drips inside my truck into the cup holder & floor. It also leaks from those handles you grab to get into the truck. It's the only rust spot I have seen on my truck. I'd like to try & fix it myself rather than take it to a body shop but I will if I have no choice. Any help on how to fix it would be great!

Well you have a couple of options, for a quick fix get yourself some epoxy putty from por-15. The stuff works, I've been using it for a lot of years. The correct way to fix it is to find a replacement section and weld it in. Por also sells por patch which will also work. I would use the putty, you can sand it and paint it. Good luck

Well here is my plan. Not sure how well it will work but don't have the extra money to have a body shop repair it. Going to sand it down, clean it real good, apply POR 15 POR Patch or Epoxy Putty, paint over it with POR 15 Paint, Prime & then paint with Duplicolor paint match. You guys think it will work?

That's a good plan, get the putty you can use that on other projects around the house. I sealed a heater pipe at a friends house a couple of years ago and it's still holding. Remember you have to use the tie coat primer over the por-15 before regular paint. I would clean the rust on the interior also. Have fun.
