Excalibrator results...

2004 F-150 RC SB 2WD 5.4L 3V
3.73LS
28.5" 295/45/18 Toyo Proxes.
Underdrive pullies from troyer
rear cats removed
Magnaflow exhaust
Airaid Intake

Before I installed the smaller diameter tires, pullies, cats removed and Excalibrator tuner my best 1/8 mile ET was 9.49@73.04mph.

My new times with the new Excalibrator tuner, new tires, removed cats and pullies is down to a 9.19@75.5mph WITH SPIN out of the hole.

I tested the accuracy of these times with a new G-tech compared to the track results I got in the 1/8 mile. G-tech is accurate!!!! According to the G-tech my times are as follows.

0-60mph-5.8 seconds
1/8mile-9.20@75.5mph
1/4mile-14.35@92mph

13's are guaranteed.

I dropped 3 tenths off my 1/8 mile time with the Excalibrator being a big part of it. I gained 2.5mph in the 1/8 alone.

4.10 gears and electric fans are going in next and I should see high 8's in the 1/8th. That yields high 13's in the 1/4 mile.

Not bad for a Troyer modded ALL MOTOR 2004 model. Considering the new 04's have a reputation of being SLOW. Not the case here.

Slips and video will be provided for my 9.19 run. A few days.

Mike and Anita are kicking @$$ on my tunes and I will be going to him for my Procharger custom tunes as well when the time comes.

Thanks. The 5.4L is so much better than the 4.6. I drove a RC SB 2WD with the 4.6 and it was...well....I am glad I have the 5.4L, let's keep it at that. LOL!!!

Hellbound,

I am about to pull the trigger shortly on the stage2 kit less the Magnaflow since I already have it. Sounds like you are almost there short the e-fans.

Are you planning on doing e- fans before the gearing?

I for one would like to know the difference. I plan adding one mod at a time if I can stand it. Was hoping you could kill the e-fan questions I have...

Thanks for all the info thus far!!!

At this rate I amy be able to do everything at once!!!

Who did you get your tune from? I just traded my 6L diesel and now have the SCT, want to program it for my 5.4. Thanks.

E-fans IMO opinion will drop about 1 tenth in your times. The fan weighs about 10lbs and gives about 10RWHP in gain.

But, the real gains come from throttle response and gas mileage. That throttle response may get you a quicker 60'. Otherwise it is just a step closer to 13's for me NA, which was my mission all in spite of the Hemi boys saying it couldnt be done.

Now I am pulling better times than most of them are modded. Go figure. Anyway, then the real power comes in. Procharger !!!!!

As far as gears, well, you sacrifice the positive point of having a longer gear in MPH and top speed. But, let's say you drop to 4.10's. Even with my 28.5" tires my "actual" gear ratio will be 4.30. It is 3.93 now with the smaller tires. So, with that gear drop you will essentially be able to achieve a higher top speed because more power will be there to push you. Ya know?

So, with 4.10's and my 28.5" tires I could still feasibly achieve a top speed of 159mph in 4th gear rapped out all the way. Most likely we are looking at about 130mph. More than enough for even an 11 second 1/4 mile. LOL!!! Which I will never see.

Hope to pull 12's with BOOST.

Hi Hellbound,

0-60 in 5.8 seconds and 14.35 in the 1/4 mile with those mods is about right (and something to be very proud of, nice job!)

I'd like to see what it can do with good traction allowing a 1.85 or better short time. We can help you get it hooked up, too, so you can get those 60' times down and maybe get into the 13's with your *present* mods. .

By the way - when it comes time for the blower, you might want to consider our blower kit - positive displacement so no waiting on boost, max boost is in by just 2000 rpm. Instant torque, better 1/4 mile times and far better driveability than centrifugals, AND a 3 year/36,000 mile powertrain warranty to boot!

13's normally aspirated on the motor are attainable - and 12's with our blower - all under warranty. Heh-heh...........

OK, I'll stop & let your numbers speak for themselves - as they certainly do all too well, you should be very proud of what you have accomplished.

Thanks for making the point that these 2004 & newer F-150's most certainly *can* easily be made to run low 14's without a blower or nitrous, and with better traction, can run in the 13's, all on the motor, with our bolt-on mods - no nitrous, stock engine, and no forced induction - yes gang, it most certainly is doable.

Give 'em Hell, Hellbound!

Thanks MIke. Once I get some gears and fans I can forsee some high 8's coming in. I need to get some stickys back there though.

I get back with you on tightening up the rear end. My pocket book emptied out after those few mods I did. But, rest assured I'll call you first...no doubt.

Oh, and I wasnt aware you had one for the new 5.4L 3V kits. I will check into it.

Hi Ham Radio,

Well, I have to confess that we've actually been shipping blower kits for the 2004 & up 5.4 3V F-150 for some months now - it was the first on the market that actually worked correctly. Heck, we already have people taking off their present centrifugal supercharger kit off to replace it with this positive displacement kit - and every one who has done that absolutely raves about how much happier they are now that they have both explosive power off the line and right on thru to the redline.

It's not up on our web site yet, as we're currently doing a rather major redesign of some aspects of the site - in general, what's there on our web site represents maybe 2% of what we actually do here, as we insist on everything we show on the site be available for online ordering instantly - there's so much you don't see there, superchargers, nitrous, built motors, ported cylinder heads, camshafts, gauges, suspension kits (drop & lift), complete turn-key conversions, etc., etc., etc - if it relates to performance on these vehicles, we do it - and have been, for many years.

All the various details, specs, etc. are far too detailed to type it all out, so for info on our supercharger kits for these 2004 & 2005 5.4 3V F-150 trucks we kindly ask everyone to please give us a call at our number listed below, so we can go over everything in proper detail.

PS - Every time I read your signature line, the list of modifications on your 2004 makes me grin - I love to see new trucks being properly configured by their owners for maximum enjoyment right away, instead of waiting for years. We sure as heck pay enough for these new trucks that you should be able to enjoy them just how you want them from Day 1!

Hi Hellbound,

I hear you - we all have budgets we have to live with, & "important" bills to pay first.

Getting that truck hooked up is key, of course - the 0-80 MPH acceleration is where you make your 1/4 mile times in these trucks, as after about 80 mph or so due to the aero drag, these heavy trucks aren't going to make up for a bad 60' time in 3rd gear.

It'll all come in time - you've got an *excellent* result with so few mods done to that truck and it's already turning low 14's with limited traction - keep up the great work!

Yep, in time. Truck was running STRONG last night.

I was pulling off some worse 60' times but higher trap apeeds and times ???

Managed a 2.11 60' and a 9.10@76mph.

I could not hook last night at all. I was spinning out of the hole so bad it was making me mad. I ended up calling it quits. But, on spin I am running consistent 9.19's to 9.24's all day.

Some NItto's, gears and fans should pull me well intot eh 8's without a doubt. In fact, I am positive I could yield a high 8 as it sits now with some traction.

Mike, I will call for the SC kit and get some pricing info. Later.

Talking My ride....

Mike,

Thanks for info on the SC's. Sounds like something I might dream about for the future. I will give you a call soon to get all the details. I would love to add that to my signature line. By the way, my ride is not extremely fancy but she makes me happy and its lots of fun to improve on the XL by adding a personal touch now and then. Here is a pix I got the other day instead of my signature line.
