Which Ford Excursion Engine Is the Best?

Ford Excursion

Of course, there’s always the option of buying a new/used converted Super Duty, as Patman points out.

“Depending on budget, there are also shops converting new 6.7 diesel F-250/F-350s into Excursions. 6.8 is pretty solid, but it’s super thirsty even when unloaded.”

Roadie believes in spending a little extra cash to get a solid, original Excursion, however.

“I recommend that you look for the cleanest, lowest mileage V10 unit you can find (or 7.3 diesel) and pay the market price for it. Why buy something that needs lots of work?”

One thing’s for sure – there is quite a variance on opinion here. But that’s to be expected, as both gas and diesel engine proponents are a little biased in their choices. So we want to know what you think! Head over here and chime in with your favorite Excursion engine choice, and tell us why you prefer it!
