Well Optioned 1976 Ford F-150 Is Ready to Roam

Long before the Explorer became a beloved SUV, it was a high-level trim on America’s truck!

The beloved Dentside, a.k.a. ’70s Ford pickup, is easily one of the most beloved bodystyles of all-time. These attractive yet nails-tough pickups earned their reputation the hard way, after all – in the trenches. Today, collectors are starting to take notice, making life tough for prospective enthusiasts. So when we came across this stunning 1976 Ford F-150, we had to take notice.

The mostly original ride is up for grabs over at Worldwide Vintage Autos, and it’s notable for a number of reasons. For starters, you just don’t see many Explorers around these days. Long before it became a four-door SUV, the Explorer was a trim package, one that came with a (for the time) cushy interior. And this one still looks just about as immaculate as it did decades ago.

The exterior of this 1976 Ford F-150 is every bit as nice, too. The mostly original paint still looks excellent, as does the fancy Explorer trim. The previous owner did decide to throw on an aftermarket lift and some Rancho shocks, but it’s certainly nothing outrageous. Coupled with some old school chrome wheels and Hankook DynaPro tires, the classic truck is certainly sitting pretty.

Aside from full-length headers and dual exhaust, most everything else is original and correct. That includes the 360 V8 and factory air, though the seller claims it needs a hose. With power steering and power brakes, the F-150 represents roughly the top of the line when it comes to a 1976 Ford. Couple that with a terrific orange and tan color scheme, and you’d be hard pressed to find anything better from this era. Now this classic pickup just needs a new owner, and it’s ready to roam for another 40+ years!
