With high-performance Fox Racing shocks, this Raptor’s suspension is a work of art over rough terrain.

The Ford F-150 Raptor is one of the most capable off-roaders straight from the factory. The pickup’s off-roading prowess mostly stems from the high-performance goodies that Ford tacks onto the vehicle. There’s the racing-derived 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, a 10-speed automatic transmission, massive 35-inch tall BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires, and much more.

Some of the best parts of the Raptor, though, include the truck’s Fox Racing shocks, which are fitted to the vehicle as standard fare. The high-performance shocks are capable of traveling up to 13 inches at the front and 13.9 inches at the back. That’s incredibly impressive, and the suspension setup definitely helped the automaker churn out an off-roading monster straight from the assembly line.

The unfortunate thing, though, is that the majority of owners will never get to see their suspension in action. That is, until now. YouTube account The StraightPipes attached cameras to the Raptor’s front and rear wheel-wells to give everyone a close-up view of what kind of torture the suspension goes through.

If you had any doubt that the Raptor wasn’t good at off-roading, watch the video above a few times. Watching the truck’s suspension cope with bumps and large jumps is mesmerizing. And it makes us a little sad to think that setup is hidden out of sight.
