New Saleen F-150 resurrects the muscle truck in a big way with 700 supercharged ponies!

It’s been a long time since we last saw a Saleen F-150. A full decade, in fact, since the S331 was last sold packing a 450 hp supercharged V8, performance suspension, and unique bodywork. But now Saleen is transporting us back to the glory days of two-wheel drive performance with their all new Sport Truck. Part throwback and part modern pavement destroyer, the truck made its official debut at this year’s Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction, just a few months after we first laid eyes upon its renderings.

But make no mistake – this new Saleen F-150 might look kinda like the S331, but it’s vastly more capable. Heck, the new 5.0-liter Coyote under the hood is already rated at 395 hp from the factory. Throw on a Kenne Bell supercharger and performance exhaust, and the new Saleen Sport Truck pumps out a stout 700 ponies.

Of course, you won’t exactly sneak up on anybody with aggressive yet highly attractive bodywork. But the lines of the 2018 F-150 lend themselves nicely to the special Saleen bodywork. Which includes a new front fasica, side skirts, hood, and fender vents. And the newly styled 22-inch Saleen wheels look equally at home holding General Grabber high-performance rubber.

If a V8, rear-wheel drive performance pickup wasn’t enough of a throwback for you, Saleen will even sell you a Sport Truck in RegularCab configuration. As well as SuperCab and SuperCrew, of course. No matter which body style you choose, you’ll get a retuned suspension with stiffer shocks and springs and a beefy front sway bar. Big ol’ Baer brakes at each corner bring the whole thing to a stop quickly.

Many will question the usefulness of high horsepower, two-wheel drive performance trucks. But it’s nice to see one making a comeback. And we can’t wait to see the Saleen F-150 taking out all manner of muscle cars in the coming months!
