Raptor Mods Guide Makes a Great Truck Even Better

By -

Carefully curated aftermarket parts turn Raptor into rolling stunner.

The Ford Raptor is one of those rare vehicles that really doesn’t need aftermarket mods to do what you want it to do. This is an extremely capable off-road vehicle right off the showroom floor, after all. Simply spend the cash, grab the keys, and head out to your local trail. But as good as the truck is, there are plenty of companies that offer Raptor mods.

We wouldn’t blame you for being skeptical as to whether or not these mods actually improve a vehicle like the Raptor, of course. We’ve seen plenty of great vehicles in the past that actually get worse with the addition of aftermarket parts. But that certainly isn’t the case with YouTuber Rahul Sood‘s 2017 Raptor. The tastefully modified beast not only looks fantastic but it’s certainly even more capable than before.

Thankfully, Sood is nice enough to give us a walkaround and a full list of his various Raptor mods. After purchasing the truck brand new, he wasted little time making it his own. First, Sood replaced the overly quiet stock exhaust with a Borla S-Type unit using an SPD adapter. That, plus an aFe Performance Scorcher, helps squeak out even more power from the already powerful Ecoboost V6.

Sood’s Raptor looks just as good as it goes thanks to a host of tasteful body mods. They include ADD Stealth front and rear bumpers, LED lighting, a Retrax Powertrax MX bed cover, 50 cal antenna, and custom graphics. Those great looking wheels are 20″ HRE Brushed Dark Clear aluminum hoops, which are wrapped in BF Goodrich tires. Finally, a Brembo Big Brake Kit w/ Rotors helps slow things down in a hurry.

Before we laid eyes upon Rahul Sood’s Raptor, we were admittedly skeptical that anyone could make Ford’s beastly truck any better. But as always, the aftermarket and one tasteful eye have proven us wrong once again.
