F-150 Auction

George W. Bush’s 2009 F-150 King Ranch brings big bucks at Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach.

On the surface, this 2009 F-150 King Ranch might just look like another clean, used truck. But this particular truck has a presidential pedigree after serving as George W. Bush’s post-office ride. The Oxford White ride was used around Bush’s Prairie Chapel Ranch in Crawford, TX to entertain guests, family, and various important visitors.

The F-150 was auctioned off at the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auction this past weekend, hammering at an astounding $90,000. It’s safe to say that the truck’s presidential pedigree helped inflate that sales price, but so is the cause it’s set to benefit. That’s because every penny from the sale goes to the Community Foundation of Cleveland and Bradley County, TN. The community based charity supports a pair of youth wrestling supporters – Higher Calling Wrestling Club, Inc and the Dan Gable Museum.

In addition to warm fuzzy feelings from their charitable purchase, the new owner also gets a pretty nice truck. Aside from the luxurious King Ranch trim, the F-150 comes equipped with a 5.4 liter V8 and four wheel drive. And they can brag about the truck’s lineage with Dubya’s signature on the passenger side dash.

Plus, how many people can claim that they own a truck once driven by a former president? Heck, how many former presidents even drive trucks? Bush, a true Texas ranch hand, is one of the few. And the 43rd president of our nation has pretty good taste in trucks as well.
