Prepare to Lose Sleep Over the 2019 Roush Nitemare F-150

New 2019 Roush Nitemare will keep you up at night, for all the right reasons — namely the 4.1 0-60 mph time.

Dedicated performance pickup trucks are a rare breed. General Motors arguably launched the modern “muscle truck” segment with the GMC Syclone. And Ford has dipped their toes in the water with several models as well. There was the SVT Lightning, which spanned two generations, and the Tremor, a regular cab 2014 F-150 fitted paired with the 3.5 liter EcoBoost and an aggressive 4.10 rear axle. The Tremor’s low production numbers seems to have discouraged the company from making another street oriented performance model. In all likelihood Ford is probably satisfied with having the Raptor as its sole performance trim. But what about the people who want a drag strip monster?

Roush Performance has those people covered with the 2019 Nitemare F-150. It’s not just a fast truck. It’s the quickest production truck ever produced.

Roush is of course no stranger to the Blue Oval. They’ve been cranking out substantially enhanced Mustangs and F-150s for years. And the Nitemare isn’t a new model either. But the 2019 edition takes things up a notch. The company took Ford’s 5.0 liter V8 and fitted the engine with a Roush TVS Supercharger System. Total output is 650 horsepower and 610 Ib-ft of torque. All Nitemare trucks also get equipped with some pretty cool exterior modifications too, like a custom 22 inch wheels, a special graphics package, and a Roush front bumper that’s compatible with the F-150’s adaptive cruise control system.

Roush’s muscle truck isn’t some one off affair. Customers will be able to upgrade their own trucks with the exact same modifications as the one tested by Roush. And the credibility of the Nitemare is completely legit and 100 percent verified. Jack Roush Jr., pro drifter Justin Pawlak, television personality Aaron Kaufman, journalist Rob Holland, and a multitude of Roush engineers were on hand to evaluate the Nitemare’s 0-60 run, which was measured using a VBOX DriftBox, which rounds to the nearest tenth of a second with a +/- one percent margin of error.

“It’s one thing to just add raw power to a vehicle, it’s another to truly engineer it,” said Roush Jr. “With 650 horsepower, the Nitemare delivers power unlike any other truck while retaining the reliability and refined feel you’d expect from any Roush vehicle.”
