F-150 Online’s Top 5 Reasons Why Trucks are More Badass than Cars

No Surprise: New report confirms that trucks continue to outsell cars. We have a few good ideas why. And we think ‘The Rock’ would agree.

Car companies are releasing their sales numbers for March, and to no one’s surprise, trucks and SUVs continue to outsell regular cars. This trend isn’t just with one or two car companies, either. Across the board, car manufacturers are experiencing declines in sales of cars but increases in the sales of trucks.

Of course, you’re going to hear a variety of reasons for this, but we thought we’d give you the real reasons that trucks will always outsell cars.

1. Trucks just look way more badass than cars.

This one is most obvious. Just look at your Ford truck. Then look at any sedan on the road. Case closed. It’s clear that the look of trucks is just superior to cars. The height and ruggedness alone are enough to make anyone want one. When’s the last time you saw people freak out over the newest Honda Accord like they did over the latest Raptor? How many people are out there customizing their Toyota Camry with awesome lift kits and exhausts? Exactly.

Plus, The Fate of the Furious star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson drives a truck — a super-cool and beastly Ford, no less. So, any debate over whether or not a truck is certifiably more badass than a car is moot.

2. You’re the ‘King of the Road’ in a truck.

No matter what you think about the exterior of a pickup truck, once you get behind the wheel, you totally understand why people drive them. Riding down the highway, towering over that little Chevy Cruze, you just feel joy. You almost want to laugh at the poor little people in their little Nissan Versa as you pass them in your F-150. It’s almost as if the Ford dealers should present each truck owner with a crown as “King of the Road.”

3. Add-ons and upgrades!

Sure, you can modify a car. You can take a little Honda Civic, put a ridiculous spoiler on it and a new exhaust and call it a fun-driving vehicle. However, you’re kidding yourself if you think that brings as much satisfaction as putting on thick road-ruling tires. How about the sound that your beastly, modified engine makes as it goes down the road? It’s so loud, it drowns out the sobbing coming from the drivers in their little Mazda 3. Just take a look at any modified Raptor, and you can see just how amazing these trucks can be.

4. Ever tried off-roading in a car?

Of course, not every truck owner is going to take his or her vehicle off-road. However, just knowing that’s an option is amazing. If you’re driving around in a Toyota Prius, good luck getting that through mud or a little river. Hell, if you’re in a Prius, be careful of large pebbles in the road! With a truck, you have peace of mind knowing that you can handle everything that roads have to throw at you, with the added bonus that you can take it off-road and really have fun.

5. How else are you going to get your boat to the lake?

Lastly, there are the hauling capabilities of a truck. Sure, you can put a tow hitch on the back of a Buick, but don’t expect that car to ever be the same after hauling a trailer. Your truck can not only carry that IKEA haul with ease, but you can take your boat to the lake in the summer. There’s so much fun to be had outdoors, that a basic sedan just can’t keep up. Motorcycles, jet skis, and campers are just the tip of the iceberg on what you can strap in the back of the truck or tow behind. Hey, if you want to stay inside all day and not enjoy the great outdoors, have fun in your Kia Optima.

For the sake of brevity, we’re keeping this list to a respectable five entries. Clearly, this list could go on much longer, but these reasons alone show why trucks will always be superior to cars. Do you have any other reasons why you think trucks are superior to cars? Let us know!
