Ken Block Breaks in New Raptor with a Proper Burnout

By -

Head Hoonigan’s family vacations look like a lot more fun than ours.

Let’s face it, Ken Block pretty much has it made. The professional rally driver also has one of the greatest job titles of all time – “Head Hoonigan In Charge.” But what, exactly, is a Hoonigan? Essentially someone who drives aggressively, committing frowned upon acts such as burnouts, doughnuts, and drifting using a motor vehicle. It’s a tough job, but somebody’s got to do it.

And when you’re the boss, sometimes you’ve even got to do a little “work” on your time off. So when Block picked up a brand new Raptor and took his family on vacation, he had to swing by the office to take care of some things first. Like removing a couple layers of rubber from his tires before heading off on a 1,000 mile trip. And why not do it with the wife, kids, luggage, and a couple bicycles still in the truck?

Block is an admitted Raptor junkie, so it makes sense that he would daily one after spending his work hours jumping them over huge sand dunes. He also notes in the video that he loves everything about his new Raptor, which has superior fit and finish when compared to the old one. And oh yea, it makes cool turbo noises. Plus, the guy’s got a tire sponsorship, so why not lay down copious rubber whenever possible?

Before you feel sorry for his family, you should know that his wife Lucy is also an accomplished rally driver. And it’s obvious by the kids’ reactions that they enjoyed the insanely long burnout even more than the parents. Plus, they had fun picking up rubber bits after it was all said and done. Yes, it’s quite clear that life is pretty good for Ken Block. And his vacations are far superior to ours.
