Ford F-150 Tops Armed Forces Best-Selling Vehicles List

In the most unsurprising revelation ever, military members buy more Ford F-150 pickups than any other vehicle.

The Ford F-150 has dominated U.S. sales charts for decades. In fact, nothing else even comes close, whether you’re talking about units sold or simply the quality of the product. So it should come as no surprise that our nation’s heroes also buy more F-150s than any other vehicle. And that’s exactly what a recent survey from USAA discovered.

The company, which provides financial services (including car insurance) to active and former U.S. Armed Forces members, didn’t just find out that the Ford F-150 ranks above everything else overall, either. Ford’s cash cow tops all comers in all five branches of the military in a dominant clean sweep. The rankings behind the F-150 are relatively predictable as well. But they do vary based on the branch you’re talking about.

Overall, the Chevy Silverado and Dodge Ram rank second and third, respectively. This is also the case with both the Marines and Army. But Coast Guard members prefer the Jeep Wrangler at #2. The Navy and Air Force, on the other hand, have a bit of a Honda crush, with the Civic and Accord taking up the second and third slots. Which is kinda weird when you think about how truck obsessed the rest of the nation is.

Regardless, topping the military’s best-selling list is a predictable but welcome accomplishment for the Ford F-150. Albeit totally unsurprising. After all, is there any measurable the F-150 doesn’t dominate? Even more importantly, if Ford’s iconic pickup is good enough for those willing to give it all for our country, they’re more than good enough for us!
