F150 Second Most American Vehicle to… Camry?

Well, this is a little bit embarrassing. For some time, the F-150 has held the crown of most popular vehicle in the states, but it’s not the most “American.” That honor goes to the Toyota Camry.
Now, obviously Toyota isn’t an American company so simply saying something as inflammatory as that without anything to back it up would be trolling. But according to cars.com annual American-Made Index, this is actually the fourth year the Camry has beat out the F-150 as the most American. Their list is based on where the car’s components come from, whether the car is assembled in the U.S., and sales numbers This year the Camry beat out the F-150 by less than two days of average sales for each vehicle.
While the F-150 (barely) comes in second, it’s four more spots down the list till you get to another American car. That’s more telling of American’s purchasing habits than anything, but it’s also an interesting peek into how much of American (and foreign) cars are made from imported parts.
