An EcoBoost-Powered Vintage F-100? Say What?!?

With over a million EcoBoost-powered vehicles on the road, the availability for engines, parts, and other engine swap vitals is as high as it’s ever been. As the saying goes: “The more, the better.”

So, what would you think of an EcoBoost-powered vintage Ford truck? Some hardcore truck fans may consider this sacrilegious, but we think it’s pretty darn awesome. And apparently so does the owner of this lovely 1966 Ford F-100. In the video below by EcoBoost EngineSwap, the owner brings his vintage truck up to modern standards by grabbing the excellent 3.5 liter EcoBoost motor found in the current Ford F-150, and installing it in the old-school F-100.

The initial idea was to rescue the 3.5 liter EcoBoost from a damaged F-150, but eventually the project grew into swapping the F-100 body into a modified F-150 chassis and drivetrain. We won’t spoil the fun and give you all the details, because the YouTube videos of the build do a much better job at telling the story.

Although most people wouldn’t consider anything other than a powerful V8 for a “transplant” engine, it’s awesome to see folks going after their own unique ideas and accomplishing awesome results!
