Put on your Jnco jeans and crack open a Surge, because this Ford F-100 is going to transport you back to the ’90s.

Many things have changed since the first guy decided to customize the very first pickup in his garage decades ago. Instead of hand-building or fabricating every part or change we want to make, we can now simply go online and order whatever we want. Want a mud destroying off-road machine? No problem. Perhaps a sleeper drag truck? You can do that too. But what about building a classic Ford F-100 to look like the ones you drooled over in magazines as a teen in the ’90s?

Well, that could prove a little more difficult. Things like small billet wheels and interior trim aren’t as easy to find these days. Because, well, ’90s style has largely gone out of style. But lately, we’ve seen a number of cool old hot rod trucks from this era resurfacing. Like most trends, folks who grew up during that decade are now looking for a little piece of nostalgia. And they’ll certainly find it in this Ford F-100 headed to Mecum’s Las Vegas auction on November 15-17.

Not to say that this pickup is as over-the-top as most ’90s builds. Instead, it’s a nice and subtle ride that we’d be more than happy to cruise around in today. The exterior is mostly original, save for candy paint and some subtle graphics. There’s a louvered roll pan out back, and some vintage American Racing five-spoke alloy wheels. And that’s about it.

Inside, you’ll find the requisite tweed bench seat and door panels. A tilt column and steering wheel ripped from some sedan flanks Classic Industries gauges. Really the only offensive thing about this cool Ford F-100 lies under the hood. Yes, guys liked to stuff Chevy small blocks in their Fords back in the day. And sadly, this one has one too.

But that’s an easy fix for this otherwise gem of a throwback truck. And given the cheap $20-$25k auction estimate, well worth it!
