2018 Ford F-150 Accessories: Worth the Money?

By -

More and more, dealerships are offering customized trucks right off the showroom floor. But how much is too much?

For most of us, buying a new truck is only the beginning. A vast majority of truck owners then purchase or install at least a couple of accessories, whether that be a lift kit or a new set of bumpers. After all, who wants to drive something that looks like everything else on the road? We as Americans have a deep rooted desire to show off our individuality, and the aftermarket is more than happy to oblige. And that’s certainly the case with the new 2018 Ford F-150.

In fact, aftermarket accessories are so popular, many companies partner with dealerships to offer modified trucks fresh off the showroom floor. It’s a win-win for everyone involved. Companies sell more parts, dealerships sell more trucks at higher profits, and consumers get the truck they want without having to go to the trouble of doing the work themselves.

YouTuber Charleston Car Videos gives us a nice rundown of what’s available for the 2018 Ford F-150 in this recent video. The XLT in the video has received a full complement of mods, including a lift kit and aftermarket wheels and tires. With massive, burly bumpers, it’s a total transformation over a stock F-150. Other mods include power steps, fender flares, and a cap and roof rack for additional storage.

Interestingly, the video’s host Chad Dolbier also goes over the fact that his dealership is having trouble selling a couple of lightly modified 2018 Ford F-150 packages. The trucks come with a lift, 35-inch tires, aftermarket wheels, and a couple of other goodies for around $6k over MSRP. It seems like a fair deal, but then again, it’s also encroaching on Raptor territory in regards to pricing.

Pretty fascinating stuff if you’re considering purchasing a new, modified, 2018 Ford F-150!
