2014 Raptor Combines Street Appeal with Off-Road Zeal

2014 Ford Raptor

High-powered black and blue beast performs as good as it looks.

Everybody already knows that the Ford Raptor is one of the most capable factory built off roaders ever conceived. These things will go pretty much everywhere, from desert trails to rocky passes. But what some folks don’t realize is that they’re also pretty fantastic on paved surfaces as well. You can thank the wonders of modern technology for that. We live in a golden age, one where you can daily your truck and still win a trophy with it on the weekend.

It also means that we no longer have to settle with choosing between looking good and performing well off-road. For example, just take this 2014 Ford Raptor that we found in the Hemmings classifieds. The previous owner wanted a truck that looked just as good as it performed. And by the looks of things, we’d say he accomplished that with flying colors. Maybe you can have your cake and eat it, too.

This particular Raptor sports a very unique look thanks to a few tasteful upgrades. The heavily flaked Tuxedo black paint is broken up with blue accents on the badges, “FORD” grille lettering, bumper trim, and wheels. The interior has been treated to matching blue LEDs everywhere, even in the map lights.

That handful of changes adds up to one unique 2014 Ford Raptor that you won’t confuse with your average, run-of-the-mill SVT. This is a truck equally at home cruising the Las Vegas strip as it is blasting down a desert trail, beyond the neon jungle. And to us, that dual purpose capability is a beautiful thing.
