Glorious 1962 Ford F-100 Show Truck is a Slice of Americana

Top-to-bottom rebuild includes a 351 Windsor Motor & Ford GT40 Race Heads, and the Amaranth exterior is just as impressive.

Somewhere in St Augustine, Florida, there is an immaculate 1962 Ford F-100 awaiting a new owner. And who wouldn’t want to be that driver?! This F-100 is a badass beauty and a unique slice of Americana.

The listing on Classic Cars gives some great details, too. It’s being sold as a top-to-bottom rebuild with a 351 Windsor Motor and Ford GT40 Race Heads in the engine bay. It has some nice induction upgrades and a Griffin Radiator to make sure everything is kept nice and cool. The Flowmaster Pro Series “shorty” mufflers should help the engine sound awesome. Also attached to the engine is a C6 3 speed auto to keep the drivetrain dependable. We’re not exactly sure what the seller means by a “389 Limited Slip Rear End” though. Our best guess so far is he has a True Trac LSD mated with a Dana 60 rear axle. Either way, the impressive package is wrapped in a gorgeously painted Amaranth body that truly makes this gem stand out on the road.

The owner also says it’s on “American Ford Racing Rims.” We can’t see enough detail in the pictures to see if he means American Racing Torq Thrusts or actual Ford Bullitt wheels. Both the engine compartment and the truck bed feature LED accent lighting. That’s a worthy addition as the truck bed is very nicely trimmed with an oak and walnut finish.

Inside, it’s either love or hate when it comes to the look of the sound system against the interior. We suspect the person that buys it will immediately replace the visible parts, no matter how good it sounds. And it should sound great. After all, it’s a six-speaker Sony system using four amplifiers that are built into the headliner. Behind the seating is a set of 11-inch Subs mounted in a custom oak and walnut casing. The bench seating and door panels themselves are a mix of brushed and smooth leather.

The seller is looking to sell for $28,900 — and we’re on our way to the nearest corner store to buy a lottery ticket in hopes of scoring a quick 30 grand!
