While being in the construction business and playing hard on the weekends my truck pulls a variety of trailers. While on the jobsite of a new house it may be hooked up to a large fully enclosed 20 ft cargo trailer, a 20ft car trailer, junk wagons, scaffolding ect. On the weekends its usually matted to the 22'6 Crownline boat in the summer or up to a open four spot snowmobile trailer making our way out West. Whichever it is, the factory mirrors just weren't cutting it. The TTT Mirrors were exactly what I needed on my truck.

The directions were crisp and clear. They were very well detailed and even had pictures to help show what was needed to be done. I had my uncle that is a mechanic from Ford help me (mostly to help wire in the clearance lights). The mirrors were simple to bolt on and just had to hook up to the factory connector for power (plug and play). The clearance lights were simple to hook to the light switch on the dash. We shrink fitted all the connections for a good sealed connection. My truck has the center shift console so I had him hold a light under the dash on the driver's side while I looked on the passenger side to find a nice opening to pull the wire though. It was simple to our surprise. Used a special tool to pull the wire though (flexible wire with a grapple on the end). This tool worked great running the wire through the doorjamb into the door as well. It took about an hour and a half for everything.

After installing them I took a step back to see how they looked on the truck. I feel the style of the mirrors match the body style of the newer 04+ F-150 like they would from the factory. The fit and finish is as good as the original mirrors. At dusk or night the clearance lights look awesome when looking at the truck from the front. From the inside, it took me about two weeks to get used to the mirrors and to get the feel for them. The passenger mirror shows objects in mirror in the size they appear unlike the factory mirrors that objects appear smaller in. So it took a bit to get used to that. Once I was able to set the spotting mirrors in place I eliminated all blind spots. Now I can use the larger outside mirror to focus on the wheels of the trailer or whatever I want them to be set on.

I have found that backing trailers is a lot easier since I can be turning a bit to get straightened up and I don't lose sight of the trailer unlike the factory mirrors. This helps a lot for backing down the boat ramp. On the highway it makes seeing around the cargo trailer much better and when passing the mirrors help a lot to know when to pull back in the lane. In conclusion I feel these mirrors are well worth the investment.

About Schefenacker Vision Systems (source: vendor)

Schefenacker Vision Systems' popular Telescoping Trailer Tow Mirror line fits the most popular Ford, GMC, Chevrolet, Cadillac and Dodge Ram trucks and SUVs.

The mirrors are designed for a clean, aerodynamic, factory-fitted appearance. They are built for toughness and tested to OEM specifications. They replace your vehicles original exterior mirrors and slide with up to 4-1/2 inches of outward manual adjustment. This allows the driver to see past loads up to 102 inches wide, making it ideal for towing.

In addition to telescoping, the mirrors can fold rearward and forward against the vehicle, allowing access to tight spaces. The mirrors are supplied with polished black covers that can be painted to match the vehicle. Chrome and 'US Flag' theme covers are also available.

The mirrors are manual telescoping and available in three choices: 1) Manual, 2) Electric & heat, and 3) Electric, heat, turn signals & clearance lights.

The Manual mirror features two mirror elements -- a large, flat main glass and a separate, wide-view adjustable spotter mirror.

The Electric & heat mirror's large main glass is electrically adjustable on vehicles originally supplied with electric mirrors. Heated glass ensures clear rearward visibility in icy conditions. Vehicles can be upgraded to have the mirror heat option.

The top of the line is the Electric & heat & light mirror. In addition to the aforementioned features, this mirror offers LED turn signal lights that increase awareness for other vehicles of the driver's intention to turn or change lanes. LED clearance lights turn on with the vehicle's night driving lights. Vehicles can be upgraded to have both the turn signals and clearance lights.

Schefenacker Telescopic Trailer Tow Mirrors are available for the 1997 to current Ford F150; 1998 - 2000 Ford F250 Light Duty; 2004 to current Lincoln Mark LT; 1999 to current Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra; 2000 to 2006 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Yukon; 2002 to 2006 Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Avalanche and 2002 to current Dodge Ram trucks.
