In the last week I've used my truck to haul a couple of loads of gravel (sitting on the frame after it was loaded), and haul some 6x6x8 and 4x4x8 treated lumber for my new fence (for corner posts and braces posts), and pull concreted fence post out of the ground and haul them away for someone else.

Can I join the club?

P.S. has anyone else noticed your tow hooks are crooked after using them to tug on something?

I think that it is lonely on this forum because few of the people that buy a truck plan to use it for the purpose for which it was intended IE: Towing, Hauling, or general WORK.

The vast majority of truck buyers want something cool/fast/comfortable etc instead of a workhorse; which leads to people being disappointed in the capabilities of their vehicle. How many of us have read posts from people who find out too late that they can't tow/haul something because they didn't look carefully enough as the payload capabilities? Bet you a dollar against a dime they researched the interior packages and sound systems a lot more carefully.

My 98 XLT was purchased solely on what it could do, not what it could be made to do, or look like for that matter. If I want to do a 11.5 1/4 I'll use my car .

Mines stock

My 97 is as stock as it was on day 1 of its beginning. The only add ons are a bug shield, tinted windows and different brand of white letter tires.I knew what i wanted out of my truck; i dont haul anything but people in the cab.Until someone else pays my truck note, then they can not say anything about what and how i do with my truck!!!

My truck is not a work truck, but my family bought it so that we could tow our 22' &17' boats, and haul stuff from place to place. Since my dad gave me the truck, it has been used as my dailty driver, but on occasion I use it for the above mentioned.

My 90 is my every day driver, tow vehicle, and work vehicle. I'm a drywaller and haul 6 ft. ladders, benches, planks, and everything else in it.
On those lucky weekends when I can get away, I haul my 85 Palomino MXL hardside pop-up with it.

I use my truck as a car maybe 80 percent of the time. The rest of the time it's doing what it was designed to do...haul things like a truck.

I use my truck to pull a 20 trailer for my lawn service..I also pull a 19 ft ski boat on a 27 inch tandem axle trailer..also doin some haulin in the bed but usually use the trailer as mine is a flairside..I even had to tow my brothers porsche on a 28 ft flat bed after he bent his a arms after sliding into the curb! lol never wished I had more power or been dissapointed. Only thing I would change is shift points because its always up/downshifting at highway speeds But I love my truck at work and play!

i like it to look nice, but it has to pull it's weight

I just traded in my old Isuzu Rodeo in this summer for my F150, and I sure do miss my trailer hitch, but will hopefully have one by XMAS, you don't get everything when you buy used, I like the truck to look nice, but both it and the Rodeo always will be and had to be good work vehicles

Post I use mine for a little bit of everything...

I don't use mine to make a living but it's my only vehicle so I drive it to work plus use it to haul some of my equipment/toys around. It's really overkill for the loads I haul/tow but we plan to buy a travel trailer next summer so if all goes well I'll get my $$ worth out of it:

I bought my truck so when and if I needed it to do what it was designed for I could use it. It is a 4.2 and does what I need it to do. It has hauled my race car about 10 times (3,500lbs car and trailer) I have used it twice to move, along with pulling a 5x9 open trailer to carry more. Worked great when my daughter and I went to calif. last xmas (approx. 7,000 miles round trip) carried all the things we needed in the back.

Like someone else posted I use it maybe 20% if that as a true truck, other then that it is my transportation. To be honest I could never be without a truck. It's a great looking truck that gets many compliments, silver flareside, 17" wheels, some mistake it for a lighten (don't ask me why, maybe the well water back here LOL).

I remember when I bought my Craftsmen Tool Box thinking its great to have a truck or I would have had to have it delieved for a charge. Cars are nice, but you ain't bringing home that new washer in the trunk

My truck is used only for work, other trhan when it hauls the boat or the utuilty trailer. Dont want to put messy stuff in the truck box. It's loaded with cable 5 tool boxes and short ladders as well as parts. This is all under a Rader cap that matches the truck ( 02 black 5.4 4X4 XTR) The cap has removable roof rack to carry longer ladders .

I bought my 2002 F150, and I believe it was a "work" edition truck because it was almost stripped down. Had only A/C as a "mod" ha ha ha!

I use it for work, that is if you call surfing a job! It hauls my surfboard, 1 or 2 buddies and their boards, and we're off to the beach.....I mean "work"!

I also bought my truck because me and friends (all 28 and under) seem to move around alot, and we gotta haul our furniture around. They pay me sometimes, although not with cash most of the time, can this be considered work?

Shoot, I had an Escort before my truck. Try hauling a sofa in that thing!

Once a month mine gets loaded up with every thing I own, and driven 1500 miles give or take at 70+mph. Does that count?,,,,98
