Shifty, I've been meaning to go through this thread for a long time. I finally just did, and you're a wonderfully crazy sumbitch

You should one-up yourself by towing a horse trailer with your Mustang

bahaha reminded me of this song.

10-4 buddy, come on back
A horse trailer on a cadillac
Yeah, we're talkin' to the cowboy
In the coupe de ville
Chug-a-luggin' up one side
Slidin' down the other
I'm a lover of the other side of the hill

Wish I had pics of some the loads I've hauled over the years... Not so much recently, but back in the mid 80's..... Wow..

Anyway, I forgot about this and refreshed my memory on it and I still like Ford Trucks..

Been my "working" truck since 1986, built my house, hauled cross ties, block, trees, gravel, but now she just pulls logs, occasional stump, trash that doesn't fit under the other truck's bed cover ... and of course, wood pellets. Not often but more than once has hauled 3k ponds. A ton is pretty easy but is about the most I intentionally haul on it, just need plan stops, go easy on the gas pedal like mash half way and let the engione just pull, it'll get there. 45-50 is plenty of speed.

Low compression 351M, C-6 kitted, 3.50 gears, it's a '77 F-150. I had two tons delivered today, they used a F-550 flat bed.

The old girl is partly stripped, gonna get new bed sides, doors, paint, fenders, tailgate too this fall/winter. Gonna go white, no race track, might add free wheeling vynil in spring. Only has a little over 105k. That is a oak pallet loaded with fifty 40 pound bags of wood pellets. When loading, we use the fork truck to set the pallet in the bed at rear, then use an empty pallet to push it forwards on the bed liner. If I need to haul heavy and can't use the '77, I use my trailer and the '07 .... to pull it.

Fun thread.
