I use a big utility trailer to take the abuse of hauling dirt, gravel, mulch, etc. I guess I am one of the crowd who doesn't like to tear up my truck that way but it doesn't bother me to see others use theirs. After all thats what they are for and alot of people depend on it for a living. Mine is mainly a daily driver and tow vehicle for the boat.

Whats funny is to see somebody like me with a 16' trailor loaded with gravel or what ever an then put a load in the bed too. That old 300 just keeps pulling though. Thank goodness for add a leaf....

You cant beat a 300 six. Best work engine ever made!!!!!!!!!!! Ive had 2. The truck falls apart around the engine, If you can put up with the power steering whine, and always have an extra starter.

I've got an '04 XLT, and I take care of it. But I also work the *#$% out of it.

I've had it full of concrete block, fill dirt, mulch, camping gear, deer carcasses, rifles, canoes, tools, server racks, engines, transmissions, appliances, whatever.

I do not have a bedliner, and maybe I should have paid for one. But I figure I would have been better off with just a bed mat to keep things from sliding, and actually using the truck. The bed was dented when I bought the truck anyway.

I bought a pickup truck with a nice luxury car feeling interior, not a luxury car with a truck bed. I use it as such. I do like modding my truck to improve its function. I added vent visors to allow me to crack the windows down a hair during Texas summer rainstorms to keep from having the cab feel like a blowtorch or getting wet. I added nerf bars because I am not 16 anymore, and my very soon to be wife is barely over 5 foot tall. I added a brush guard because my deer lease has bump gates and I decided I would be better off mashing a brush guard than the stock bumper like I did in my Ranger. I added the trailer hitch in order to tow heavier loads than the bumper will handle. I added the K&N to improve HP and MPG, I added the BFGs to improve traction, I added the ProComp rims because the stockers are too narrow for the tires I really want. I added the off road lights to allow me to see better on the deer lease or on the beach at night. I added the CB radio to keep in touch with the other guys I hunt with when we go in to the feed store or whatever. I added the toolbox to give me a better mount for the 102, and to get my recovery gear out of the cab etc...

My upcoming mods are going on for the same kinds of reasons. I am going with a set of 305/70R17 Buckshots as soon as I get my honeymoon paid off (she has already agreed to this!), to get the bigger rubber, with a more aggressive grip. I will be changing gears and diffs to True Tracs and 4.56 gears to get my engine back into the right power band on the road, and give me better low end pull, as well as durable limited slip diffs at both ends to give me traction when it is hard to find.

Sure there are some nice plush things I would like to do like a Leather interior conversion, but overall, I am building my truck for hauling myself, my materials, and / or my gear to where I am going, and what I am doing.
