At my college, (Bridgewater State) I work for the transportation dept while attending classes, and we run nothing but ford trucks for all their heavy work. everything from f150 short beds to the f450 small dump trucks w/plows. The maintainers for the school beat on those trucks daily with their heavy loads and crappy driving skills and they hardly break down and we have about 12 ford trucks in the motor pool. Sure little things happen here or there but as someone stated earler you don't but a v6 4x2 to haul oversized loads of any kind, any truck will be wreaked if you do it too much with them, there just too small.

are you kidding?

"Of the places around here, the vast majority run nothing but Ford work trucks. Oh they may have a plush Chevy for the foreman to drive around and eat donuts in while the men work. But the truck that haul the concrete, blocks, wood, etc in beds are all Fords. F-250 service trucks and F-350 trucks to tow trailers is also the norm. Go figure. To me that says it all, what do the people who WORK use? FORD! "

ON WHAT PLANET? MARS?

Chevy people always seem to have to bash Fords to make themselves feel better. It's called Ford envy.

Ahh... and this from a guy that has an email address called 'TOMBABY2' LMFAO... what a keyhole. Swinging from both sides of the plate are we?

I'm sincerely glad that you like Chevrolet Tom. Seriously. You're helping the economy in a huge way and, as a fellow American, I thank you.

It still doesn't solve this weird mystery of why you're such a moron though?! Go play on a GM site somewhere so you can attempt to figure out why you're on your 2nd tranny in 3 years.

(I speak only from personal experience on my 1997 Blazer XT - 2 trannies, 73 1/2 man hours *yes, seventy-three* of work to attempt to solve a fuel guage problem... with no success).

for the past 2 summers ive worked for the city maintence (gas and street depts.) and all i can say is that as far as the newer trucks goes, nothing beats a Ford. Ive driven them, hauled loads with them, and worked the s#it out of them. Ive driven a 99 Dodge 4x4, '00 chevy half ton w/ 4.8, 02 Ford F350 V10, 02 Ford F350 with 7.3 PS, 96 Ford 3/4 ton with 460, 99 chevy with 454 diesel, and several others. THere is nothing that can compare to the Fords. The sorryiest truck i drove was the '00 half ton chevy with the 4.8 V-8. It was quick but couldnt pull a load worth *****. The Dodge was better than teh Chevy, but was a gas pig and kind of slow. It was ALWAYS a good feeling to hop in my Triton
V-8 at the end of any day, especially when Id been in the Chevy all day

Hands down Ford wins.

Has no one mentioned to you that at your age breast milk is bad for your health? Time to get off mama’s tit and stop touching yourself and step up to the plate and see what REAL men drive…

my family has an '01 F-350 powerstroke and i drive the old '83 F-250 with a 460, other than regular maintainence this old truck has never let us down, it may look like its been beaten with a tire iron but for the last 173k miles hauling loads of scrap metal and horse trailers to shows all across the country it has never had any real problems except the gas mileage. it was a construction truck before we bought it at the auction in 85, and it had been worked so hard that i had to replace the sheet metal in the bed with 1/4'' deck plate since the weight of the concrete bags dented it so bad. the new powerstroke hasnt had any problems yet and its been subjected to plenty of torment too, and all i gotta say is that our ford trucks have never been a problem. that stupid kid who uses the wrong tools for the job couldnt tell a real truck if he ran into the side of one.

oh, and silverado1500? why are you busy pissing in the wind trying to rag on fords when you dont have any real proof that your awesome half ton chevy can get a real job done? oh, and "real job" doesnt include getting the groceries.

i work for a construction company that use to have F150s(mixture of the v6 and the small v8) for the foremans. all were reg.cab long beds. they were constantly having problems with them so they started switching to gmc and chevy 1/2 tons. no reported problems with them in the 2 1/2 years i have been there.

we also have a F650 flat bed with a 5.9 cummins with a 6 speed tranny and we have an International T444 (same weight rating as the F650) with the 7.3 navstar (that's the powerstroke for yall ford diehards out there) with a 6 speed tranny. without a load the international with take off faster than the f650 but they will run about the same speed. with a load that is another story. the F650 will leave the International like in had the brake on.

bottom line on diesels is a I6 design is better than a V8. less parts plus you get the peak HP/torque at a lower RPM than with a V8 diesel. afterall you don't see tractors (18 wheelers) with a V8 99% have a I6 diesel, CAT, Cummins, Detroit, Volvo, Mack

Man get with the times, seems to mee the "horses ass" is still in production, and your slomero's are extint, seems that ford will always be a step ahead chevy in every way possible.
