M/T ATZ Mileage

I am needing some tires.....My Pro Comps are pretty much done....I was looking into the Nitto Terra Grappler's. However the more I look into them the less mileage folks seem to be getting....Anywhere from 15k to 30k...Ouch.....I got about 50k out of the procomps...

From the folks who have the ATZ's what mileage are you getting out of the tire?

I had the standard Pro Comp AT...Real good tire. I got 2 1/2 years and 52k miles out of them....I am just wanting to go with something a little different.

I am going between the Nitto Terra's and the M/T ATZ's....I just can't get any definate on the mileage with the M/T's. I know in the past they were known for having a really soft compound. Just wondering if they have changed the formula a bit for mileage sake...

The ATZ's are pretty new. You might not find anyone who has worn through a set yet. I think those are the best looking A/T there is.

I cant say much about the milage at this point, but I've got the tires you're talking about and so far, I LOVE THEM!!! I've only got about 4,000 miles on them so far, but it looks like 400...not that that helps much.

The tread depth on these is REDICULOUS!! I looked at the terras, and IMO those are street tires compared to my ATZ's. So far they handle very well on the road and in rain and they did a great job in the mud the few times I went to play.

I have what are called the ATZ "traditionals" meaning they are a "standard" size. They also come just ATZ which are gonna be all the popular big, wide and tall sizes. Because of the tread depth alone on these tires, they are 3/8" taller that any other tire of the same size!

275/65/18 Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ Traditional

If you want to see any pics of the current tread depth, just let me know. Otherwise, if you've got time before you make your decision, I'd be glad to keep you updated on how they are wearing. And since I see you're from Ill, im sure you'll want to know how they are once the snow flies in a month or so too.

Thanks guys.....your m/t's look great!...I think I am leaning toward the ATZ "traditional" with the wide track...

Tire package shows yours as the ATZ Plus......there is a $14 difference per tire between the two......The ATZ Plus is showing 17/32 tread depth where the Traditional is 20/32.....

I'll keep y'all posted. Thanks for the heads up and let me know how the treadwear goes...

Ken

Ill keep you posted on the treadwear. Im really hopeful on these ATZ cause my buddys last two sets of MTZ's wore great, so these ATZ's should be like having michelin's that dont look retarded

I have had my Baja ATZ's for approximately 7 months and 6000 miles. They show absolutely no tire wear at all. The tread depth is massive for an all terrain tire. They ride real smooth with only a small amount of tire howl in the cab...to the point you can't even hear it if the radio is on.

I think they are absolutely the best looking tire out there for an all terrain and will definitely be buying another set (in 37" next time) if these ever wear out. But at this rate, the tires will probably last me another 3 years.

Also, I put these on the truck when I completed the lift in March 08 I believe...it was still snow season here in Missouri and these tires just plain hook up in the snow. I only needed 4 wheel drive once when I was starting and stopping to check on vehicles that had slid into the ditch during a nasty storm.

Hope this helps.

OK...I did it. I went ahead and ordered my ATZ's in the traditional "wide track" model.

I ordered the 305 65 17's. Figured that would be as close to my 33 12.5 17 as possible. Ended up only paying $863 installed then I have a $100 mail in rebate....That is a total of $763!.....I ain't complainin!!!!
